Our Specific Objectives are to:
  • Support children with Down's Syndrome and their parents and families by providing home-based education to improve communication skills, and to develop literacy and numeracy skills to promote life skills
  • Empower and assist parents in leading their children to independent living
  • Support teaching and learning in schools
  • Develop inclusive social programmes of activities for children and young people with Down's Syndrome and their non-disabled peers
  • Develop inclusive good practice networks providing non-traditional education to children aged 0-16 years, incorporating the social skill elements necessary to achieve independent living
  • Promote and increase representation of people with Down's Syndrome in the wider community in decision-making and community activities
